Peanuts and Cracker Jacks

Peanuts and Cracker Jacks [Photo]Peanuts and Cracker Jacks were always a favorite when I was a kid....I LOVE caramel corn and to get the prize in the bottom of the box, that was way cool! Life was so much simpler when we were kids...summer vacation meant something! The endless days of summer! Now, summer just means no school zones to deal with, air conditioner bills and staying cool. When did I get this old? Today I am definitely feeling my age, can't really say why-maybe I'm feeling my bones today. Things are creaking and cracking and I'm making that sound my dad did when he got out of a chair..."ooiii" This has got to come to a screaching halt! What can I do today, that's just a summer thing, that will give me back that feeling of wonderment and freedom? My dad used to take us to Dairy Queen for a ice cream dipped in chocolate cone (I think that's why I'm making that sound when I get out of the chair...) I need to think of a non-food thing. Not a work thing like picking weeds...like skipping! Or Jump Rope...or do you remember that game "Red Rover, Red Rover send ..... on over" and you would all hold hands and try to keep that person from breaking through your line! I'll think of something! Any suggestions let me know!

How about taking in a movie at the drive-in? Do you still have one there? Okay, well it would still be in the 90's at midnight where you are. How about an icy cold glass of unsweetened tea, with a few lemon wedges. That's virtually calorie free. Pull up a chair on the inside of your patio doors and enjoy the flowers. Okay, well they have probably burned up by now. I give...go have a chocolate dipped ice cream cone!

CC, you love animals. You need to participate in Critter Camera. All you do is upload a picture of a criter/animal. Write about it. And then go to the critter camera page (From my page or B.roan) and add your blogspot address. Its super easy and its FUN. If you like that, then do the same thing for Odd Shot Monday. Post a pic of anything you find Odd. All you need is a digital camera and your creative and fun imagination.

Oh, you were looking for something summer time related....How about going to cottonwood park and feeding the ducks your leftover bread crumbs and use your camera to get some shots for critter camera next Sunday. You might even find something good for an odd shot too. :)

Okay, you've changed your settings to 'dis-allow' comments. Where am I supposed to leave a comment? Well, here obviously. Certainly not on your new comment. I would have paid big bucks to have seen you skipping down the grocery aisle. 105 makes me glad I'm here in the 90's. The homemade lemonade sounds really yummy! Our weekend was so much fun. Friday night was Relay for Life. Bob has badly damaged his truck after hitting a deer broadside. He wasn't hurt, but he's mad at that dead deer! Then, my car wouldn't start this morning so I was 4 hours late for work...and on a court day. I'm way behind now!

Fix your comments so we can continue our nagging.

I was about to say I loved the sound of your homemade lemonade.
I hope it's not because I'm a stranger you've changed your comments - if so, please refer to BJ for a reference...

Okay, It is Tuesday afternoon and still cannot leave a comment. A little envelope thing appeared so I can email your post to a friend, but still cannot leave a comment. By the way, I would be happy to vouch for Blue. She's awesome!
